CDG20-Government Experience Special COVID-19 Project Awards

The Center for Digital Government (CDG) invites nominations for its GOVERNMENT EXPERIENCE AWARDS 2020 where we celebrate achievements and learn best practices from U.S. states, counties, cities and federal agencies. We will recognize entities that have gone beyond simply using the web to radically improve upon the experience of government and push the boundaries of how services are delivered.

This year, a focus on government experience has been essential in providing the COVID-19 channels for citizens to gain information and direction about what is happening in their jurisdiction. It has become the lifeline to connect with government for essential services during the time of remote work. It has provided the platform for government employees to continue to operate as offices are shut down and telework becomes the norm.

Top government jurisdictions, agencies and departments will be featured in a half-day Experience Academy. They will be honored at a high-energy, celebratory awards event (TBD), while also being featured in Government Technology and other publications.

All nominations must be fully implemented by submission due date. There are no other time limitations, such as how many years the nominated project has been operational.

Extended Deadline: Nominations must be submitted online by Friday, July 31, 2020.

CDG thanks Adobe, Akamai, Amazon Web Services, Google Cloud, Laserfiche, McAfee, NIC, Nutanix, Oracle, SHI, Spectrum Enterprise, TeamDynamix, Tyler Technologies, Veeam and Verizon Enterprise Solutions as underwriters of the awards program/academy and banquet.

Awards Process:
The awards entry consists of the online submission. Only fill out applicable sections that apply to your COVID-19 project. The nominations will be reviewed and judged based on the evaluation criteria. Scoring will be based on both the review of URLs/online/other referenced experiences; and on the answers and written information in the submission.

An Evaluation Panel will select recipients in the above categories. Judges may select nominations for a Special or Innovation Award in a specific area.
